Watermelon & Sunflower Seeds Selecting Line – 4 Tons/H Dual-Purpose Solution for Iranian Processor

This dual-purpose line was custom-built for an Iranian processor and is optimised for the region’s seed varieties, including local Iranian watermelon seeds with thick shells, and hot, dry workshop conditions. It is designed to handle both watermelon seeds and sunflower seeds.

How it processes watermelon and sunflower seeds.

The line’s integrated workflow ensures seamless switching between the two seeds while maintaining 4 tons/h capacity:

• Sunflower Seed Phase: Raw sunflower seeds first pass through our Air-screen Cleaner to remove big and raw impurities, then enter the Grain De-impurity and Grain De-stoner—using air flow and density sorting to isolate high-quality kernels from lightweight impurities.
• Watermelon Seed Phase: Raw watermelon seeds are sent straight to a polishing drum to remove the surface fuzz. They then go through the same 5XZ-1480B Blow Type Gravity Separator with adjusted settings to filter out undersized seeds and stones. This ensures a uniform size for snack production.

Key Performance Metrics

• Capacity: Steady 4 tons/h (handles 2.5 tons/h sunflower seeds + 4tons/h watermelon seeds, matching the client’s daily 32-ton mixed processing demand).
• Sorting Purity: ≥99% for sunflower kernels, ≥99% for polished watermelon seeds (up from 92-93% with their old single-purpose lines).

This solution solved the client’s need for a single line to handle both seeds—previously, they used two separate machines, wasting space and slowing production. Now, with consistent 4 tons/h output and high purity, their seeds meet Iranian national standards and export requirements to Gulf countries, boosting sales by 40% in 12 months.
